Spectrum Academy & Athletics

The Academy is an inclusive center for exceptional learning and growth for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our curriculum includes program lessons in financial literacy, information technology, social studies, history, reading, writing, arts, and science. Academy members have an individualized lesson plan designed to their specific learning style, needs and experiences. The Academy also offers small group settings to enhance member learning, contributions, and collaboration.


Spectrum is a proud Gold-level partner with Special Olympics of Colorado and the event sponsor since 2016 for the Special Olympics of Colorado State Summer Games held at Colorado Mesa University. The Spectrum Academy Skyhawks participate year-round in traditional and unified sports including football, basketball, softball, soccer, bowling, cheerleading, and bocce ball. Our athletes enjoy all levels of competition and thrive on the admiration and support from teammates, friends, and family.
